History and background

TimeLog was established with the goal of developing the world's best product for time tracking and project management.

Already a product

In 2001 the two entrepreneurs, Søren Lund and Jakob Mikkelsen, established TimeLog in collaboration with the advertising agency & IT company Cadpeople.

The point of departure was the product Insight, which was developed in 1997 for the Danish Technological Institute to keep track of time spent on projects. Insight was renamed TimeLog Project, and the process of establishing a technical- and commercial platform began.

Time and projects - with financial management

“Our goal was to develop the best product in the world for time tracking and project management, and we wanted it to be a web application. We had gained experience from the Danish Technological Institute and Cadpeople, which is why we went ahead with it,” Søren Lund says and continues:

“Our goal has not changed – although the financial management of consultancy and project finance takes up an increasingly larger part. We view our product, TimeLog Project, as the production system of consultancies and IT-departments.”

Today Søren Lund functions as the CEO of TimeLog and Jakob Mikkelsen is a member of the board, and has also started Greener Pastures, which provides TimeLog's mobile applications.
