The business’ international scope requires Crescore’s consultants to work across borders, both internally in the company across departments, and externally, if the Swedish office has assignments in Denmark or Norway. This means that Crescore’s consultants have most of Europe as their workplace, which can be challenging when tracking time.
TimeLog Project is not too expensive. The size of the system and what we wanted to spend on it, together with the international aspects made TimeLog Project the right solution for us.
Crescore’s consultants usually work for clients on time-based projects. It can be an hourly, daily or monthly rate, but rarely a regular fixed-rate project. Therefore, easy access to precise time tracking is of key relevance to keep administrative costs low, secure transparency, and give a good overview of projects.
“The main driver behind buying TimeLog Project was the need for accessibility and stability,” explains Bernhard Szablowski, Partner.
“Our old system was an internally-developed Access database that could have worked a little bit longer, and was more adapted to our specific needs. Unfortunately, we were reliable on a single person in charge of the system. If he were to leave Crescore, we would be very vulnerable, and that was an insecure long-term solution.
We also had some problems registering hours. People would only register hours after month’s end, which complicated the project overview and management follow up. In short, we needed a system where we could report time wherever and whenever we wanted to.”
Crescore decided to look for a new solution and found TimeLog Project. It took the company two to three months to decide on the system.
We also looked at other systems, but TimeLog Project was the only system that fulfilled the most of our needs without going to SAP-size.
“We were looking for a new system for time tracking, a fairly smaller and simpler system, not as complex as SAP, but a system that could embrace a complex business with international departments.
. It was also important that the system was a web-based solution. We also looked at other systems, but TimeLog Project was the only system that fulfilled the bulk of our needs without going to SAP-size”.
The crucial factors for Crescore’s choice of TimeLog Project were based on the time tracking opportunities, management features, accessibility, and the multi-currency feature.
Also, the price aspect was a decisive factor. “TimeLog Project is not too expensive. The size of the system and what we wanted to spend on it, together with the international aspects made TimeLog Project the right solution for us.”
The international aspect provided by TimeLog Project is very valuable for Crescore, as there is only one database where all data is collected. “We don’t have any individual installations.
If I had to make the same decision again, I would still choose TimeLog Project!
We use the reports available in the system to look at key figures such as hourly rates, billing rates, and how much time consultants spend on their projects. We also use the time tracking data to create invoice specifications, which we send to our accounting firm. TimeLog Project works very well for our needs. We have achieved most of the goals we set for the system when we bought it, and no longer have to rely on the old system. On top of that, the implementation process went well, and any challenges we had afterwards were worked out within a fairly reasonable time. If I had to make the same decision again, I would still choose TimeLog Project!”
