Gain new insight into your business

TimeLog Project offers a range of new tools to monitor and analyze your business.

New tools for management

Honestly – how many companies know exactly:

  • How many hours each employee uses internally and externally?
  • How many hours each individual consultant has invoiced in the last year or the last month?
  • How good the project managers really are at meeting their budgets?
  • What percent of the businesses activities go to development, sales, and external activities?
  • How loaded with work are the departments or employees?
  • Which projects are in the business’ project portfolio?

With TimeLog Project, project finances become measureable and transparent – with cost, expected revenue, and actual revenue. This gives management the ability to make very informed decisions, and the ability to create an overview of each process to the big business picture.

Five types of management reports

The management reports in TimeLog Project are grouped by five different reporting needs. All reports can be exported using various formats, including Microsoft® Excel.

1. Business reports

TimeLog Project's business reports are based on one specific issue. For example, the “Internal/External analysis” report shows each employees’ internal and external time usage, giving management data relevant to this particular issue.

2. Status reports

Status reports give management insight into the business’ production, such as which project or customers have been worked with in a given period. TimeLog Project's status reports shows the status from the dimensions supported b the system, such as the cost, and the potential and actual value of the work completed.

3. Process reports

Process reports illustrate a workflow. TimeLog Project has processes for approving timesheets, expenses, travel, etc. Process reports give the employee’s status in relation to the process.

4. Project portfolio reports

TimeLog Project offers a range of management reports that collects data from many projects, to allow retrieval of statuses from multiple projects in one report.

An example would be the project portfolio report. This report collects the entire business’ project activities in one screenshot.

5. Analyis reports

This type of report is not based on specific business needs, but gives the broadest possible access to filter and group data.

The pivot-report is a good example. Here, you can filter project registrations out from all dimensions, choose a grouping, and decide whether to present data graphically, or in a table.

New insight – new possibilites

When the business has gathered data in TimeLog Project for a few months, new opportunities are created for using management reports. This creates an image that gives management the capability to check status and control the company’s direction going forward.

Which reports are most relevant for you depends on your field and internal organization. Because TimeLog Project offers a wide range of targeted reports, we can cover just about everything.
