Employee turnover is a measure of how good a company is at retaining its employees. A high turnover reflects the fact that a large part of the company's employees leave the workplace.
Retention for the company or a department can be calculated using this formula:
Resigned employees’ man-years (calculated using normal working time) divided by the number of man-years the department disposes of for the chosen time period (calculated using normal working time).
A high employee turnover in a department or entire company typically reflects bad management or a hard working environment.
