Fixed implementation model

Our experience shows that the implementation of TimeLog Project has four phases.

TimeLog’s consultancy department, Professional Services, uses a fixed implementation model to support selection, configuration and implementation of various processes in TimeLog Project. This model is applicable to most business systems, not just TimeLog Project.

The four phases, shown in the model above, are briefly described. For each step the description includes relevant workshops, and counselling.

Why we can help you the best…

  • We have carried out more than 250 successful implementations of TimeLog Project.
  • We have extensive experience and knowledge of the industries at which TimeLog Project is aimed.
  • We have developed best practice that suits your needs.
  • All consultants possess a unique combination of technical knowledge and business insight, making us best suited to help you.

Step 1

Identification and selection

In the first phase the company decides which IT system will be used, and which processes it should include.

In larger companies a business case is developed and a framework for the future ROI calculation is set. Frequently the company views several product presentations and is in contact with several IT providers.

Participants

Management is usually not involved in this phase.

TimeLog's consultants function as technical advisors in larger cases. Especially concerning integration tasks and the development of specific customer solutions.

Step 2

Configuration

In the second phase TimeLog Project is configured in Workshop 1, so the system suits the company's needs perfectly.

Roll-out is planned and employees are trained in the use of TimeLog Project in Workshop 2. Here, the emphasis is on making project managers and employees from the finance department familiar with the system’s structure and its use. In more complex solutions an individual course of training will be customized.

In this phase the company will usually question the efficiency of the current business processes. TimeLog’s consultants can help by entering into the work of mapping and optimising the company’s business processes.

Participants

The project manager for the implementation, managing project managers and finance employees.

TimeLog's consultants arrange workshop 1 and 2, and potential specific courses of training.

Step 3

Roll-out and operation

In the third phase TimeLog Project is put into use. During the first few weeks questions arise and the system’s configuration may need some adjustments.

In this phase Professional Services will answer questions frequently, and help the company to adapt the system to their needs. Often, the dialogue takes place via TimeLog’s support department that handles user questions.

In some instances Professional Services may host a kick-off event for all employees in connection with the roll-out of the solution.

Participants

All users of the system.

TimeLog's support department answers questions from the users. In some cases TimeLog's consultants may be present at a kick-off event, to show that a new system has been taken into use.

Step 4

Anchorage and extensions

The last phase takes place when TimeLog Project has been used for a longer period. Often, the company wants to use new possibilities in TimeLog Project, activate new modules or optimise the company’s use of TimeLog Project.

In this phase Professional Services offer Workshop 3, this is an optimisation of the system in relation to the company’s business and needs. New features or modules may be activated in this workshop.

Participants

System administrator and super users.

TimeLog's consultants implement Workshop 3, optimise the customer’s solution and counsel in the use of new modules.
